Role Overview SWISS trains automation technicians (Automatiker EFZ) specialising in aircraft maintenance. If you are interested in aircraft and technology, this apprenticeship combines both in a training programme with a future. Automation technicians in aircraft maintenance are sought-after specialists: you work on state-of-the-art aircraft systems and, together with other specialists, carry out the servicing, inspection and upkeep of aircraft. Key Responsibilities Years 1 and 2: basic training in the SWISS TechOps apprentice workshop, which is exempt from inter-company courses. You learn the structure and function of electrical and pneumatic control systems, deepen your knowledge of programming control systems and apply this during commissioning, testing and optimisation in realistic projects Years 3 and 4: specialised training in aircraft maintenance with SWISS at Zurich Airport One to two days per week of theoretical training at the BFS vocational school in Uster Option to attend the vocational baccalaureate school (BMS) Option to obtain the EASA Category A aircraft mechanic licence during the apprenticeship What We Offer A four-year apprenticeship concluding with the Swiss Federal VET Diploma (EFZ), leaving you well prepared for a career in aviation Work on modern aircraft systems within SWISS TechOps Requirements Completion of compulsory schooling (lower secondary level A or B) with good grades Completed taster apprenticeship in the trade Manual dexterity and technical interest Enjoyment of technology and of the English language Reliability, a sense of responsibility and team spirit Resilience and willingness to work shifts in the third and fourth year of the apprenticeship Additional Information Entry level: apprenticeship. Requirements
