Role Overview Aircraft Technicians are an integral part of the maintenance team. Their experience, practical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills ensure that the aircraft are always maintained in an airworthy and dispatch-ready status, while providing a quality and safety supervisory role to the assigned technical team. Primary duties include maintaining the operational status of the Top Aces fleet, performing regular checks and maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing faulty equipment, as well as supporting the training and development of technical staff. The role requires a strong understanding of aircraft mechanics, attention to detail and the ability to handle the physical demands of the job. The EASA B1.1 licence aspect is essential, in order to lead by example and support the technical staff. Key Responsibilities Functional responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the Top Aces Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM): Verify and certify that each maintenance action on company aircraft, including the embodiment of modifications or repairs, is certified in accordance with approved, specified or acceptable data as defined in the company MPM Perform and certify requested maintenance within the scope of company-assigned authorities, in accordance with CAR 571 and the policies and procedures described in the manual Ensure work accomplished on any aircraft or component complies with applicable airworthiness standards and OEM instructions, company policies and procedures, regulated safety standards and authorised qualifications issued by the Top Aces Aircraft Maintenance Organisation Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft as directed by the maintenance supervisor Repair or replace parts such as brakes, electrical systems and other aircraft components Test aircraft parts and systems using diagnostic equipment and approved company maintenance manuals Configure aircraft mission systems and perform software updates Execute calibration and ground performance testing of aircraft mission systems Interpret and use various test equipment and work from wiring diagrams, blueprints and maintenance manuals Ensure all replacement parts are inspected, eligible and properly certified prior to installation Complete and certify work reports for all work accomplished on the aircraft Follow company procedures per the maintenance control manual using safe work practices All other duties as assigned by the supervisor B1.1 Technician Supervisory Responsibilities The B1.1 Technician leads and supervises an allocated team of employees and is responsible for workflow, enforcing company policies and maintaining quality and safety standards, providing mentorship and coordinating tasks according to maintenance priorities. Plan, coordinate and execute daily work for the team Provide support for qualification training, sign logbooks and on-the-job training forms Ensure safety and quality policies and standards are enforced Ensure administrative policies are enforced and managed (time control, breaks) Provide feedback to the base lead in performance assessment of individuals and assist in developing daily and longer-term deployment plans Perform employee performance reviews of assigned technicians Act as alternate to the base lead as assigned As certifying staff (EASA B1.1), inspect, control and certify maintenance tasks performed by other technicians Lead maintenance tasks on aircraft and help grow other technicians to a higher level on the shop floor Licences & Qualifications Holder of an EASA B1.1 AML for a minimum of 2 years, or a Canadian AME M2 licence Previous experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician or in a similar role Relevant security clearance required Experience Minimum of five years' maintenance experience within a military or commercial air operator environment Experience leading a small aviation technical crew of 2-5 people Proven track record of success on complex assignments requiring considerable judgement, initiative and technical/specialised knowledge Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong command of English to read, understand and interpret manuals, policies and procedures Able to work well in a team and within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Demonstrates strong and visible support of the company values: Service, Integrity, Excellence, Together Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities Work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations Follow safe work practices and procedures and use safeguards and personal protective equipment Report hazards, such as unsafe situations and activities, to a supervisor immediately What We Offer A work environment in which service, integrity, excellence and teamwork are highly valued Opportunities for development and growth Multidisciplinary and multicultural collaboration at local and global level A flexible schedule Come share your passion with us.
