About the Company Safair Operations, trading as FlySafair, is a South African airline operating a Boeing 737 fleet. This is a permanent position in the aviation industry with a market-related salary. Role Overview FlySafair has a vacancy for a Technical Instructor (Mechanical) at its head office in Bonaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Training Manager. Key Responsibilities Provide input into the training manual, MTPM, SOPs and policies. Stay current with relevant regulations, notices, directives, SOPs and policies, and maintain systems, policies and procedures so that training delivery and documentation align with regulations and best practice. Provide expert advice on the design of training programmes, covering training objectives, examinations and practical evaluations, training modules, training strategy and media, and competency-based training and assessment materials. Support the development of high-standard training material in line with company policies, procedures, industry regulations, governing bodies and best-practice methodology. Maintain an understanding of new educational and training techniques and improve existing training material accordingly. Review training feedback and identify changes to improve delivery and material. Assist with the development of safety and emergency procedures. Check training equipment and facilities for adherence to regulations, policies and SOPs. Prepare training rooms and ensure training material is readily available. Facilitate training sessions in the classroom, on the job and in virtual formats. Assess, monitor and coach trainees, providing individual feedback to support their development. Complete and distribute training documents and records in line with regulations and procedures. Report deficiencies or discrepancies in training delivery to management. Collaborate with managers to address learning challenges, instruction problems and new educational needs. Proactively communicate policy and procedure changes and training dates to stakeholders. Liaise with regulatory bodies, advisory committees and suppliers to maintain healthy, sustainable relationships. Support management with audit preparations and engagements with auditors. Licences & Qualifications Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent. Essential: valid AME instructor licence. Essential: current SACAA instructor and assessor. Essential: completed Train the Trainer, Assessor, Moderator, and Coaching and Mentoring certifications. Advantageous: diploma or degree in engineering or a related qualification. Experience Essential: 5 years' maintenance experience in a mid-size organisation. Requirements Willing to travel. Essential: sound knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook. Essential: knowledge of SACAA regulations and company policies. Essential: knowledge of educational and training techniques and methods. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail. What We Offer Permanent, full-time position.
