Role Overview The Supervisor of Maintenance protects the safety of PSA customers and employees by supervising all personnel on shift, making sure maintenance updates are properly executed and the aircraft is prepared and ready for release. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by complying with the Safety Policy and Procedures Manual and the General Maintenance Manual, and ensure subordinates comply as well. Submit manual revisions for any ineffective process or procedure identified. Schedule the department so that adequate coverage is provided while maintenance is being performed. Prepare written reports to the Maintenance Manager on delays, cancellations and irregularities. Sign maintenance releases where applicable and assume full responsibility for aircraft under the jurisdiction of the Maintenance department during a check. Verify that the responsible mechanic properly executes all necessary work records. Coordinate all operational planning so that the proper work is performed on the aircraft as scheduled. Monitor aircraft appearance and ensure aircraft are well presented. Account for the performance of assigned personnel. Maintain liaison with Maintenance Control, Production Planning and other departments. Ensure adequate tool inventories are maintained and that tools are used properly. Work in an outside maintenance operation to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft. Deliver comprehensive pre-shift briefings so the team is well informed, creating the opportunity for open dialogue. Be available for consultation and decision making on matters requiring instruction or a decision from a higher authority than the persons performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations or other functions affecting aircraft airworthiness. Provide direct supervision of the Lead Mechanic. Delegate duties as necessary, noting that delegation does not relieve the Supervisor of responsibility. Take responsibility for the company Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and the associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to guide and manage effectively, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and ensure high-quality, timely completion of tasks. Thorough understanding of aircraft maintenance processes and proficiency with the applicable manuals, including the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) and wiring diagrams. Proficient in the use of the required calibrated test equipment for diagnostic and operational testing of aircraft systems. Must hold, or be able to obtain, a U.S. passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting the position. Ability to speak, read and write English. If hired, must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the United States. Licences & Qualifications Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. Experience Successful track record of leadership in aviation maintenance. Minimum of one year of hands-on experience working on turbine-powered aircraft. Additional Information This is a supervisory position and no specific authorities are assigned. In the incumbent's absence, responsibilities are delegated to the Manager of Maintenance or the Assistant Director of Maintenance. Work environment: professional office environment using standard office equipment. The role is largely sedentary, but the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 25 lbs, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Security clearance: all employees must pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49 CFR 1542.209 and a pre-employment drug screen.
