Role Overview The Field Engineering Specialist is responsible for performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems in accordance with applicable technical data. Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina (on-site). Schedule: 2nd shift, 5/8s, Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm. Key Responsibilities Tow and position aircraft. Fly with the aircraft to provide off-station maintenance support; remove and install aircraft avionics, hydraulic components, landing gear, tyres and struts. Perform engine removals and installations. Check work for correctness. Analyse equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action in accordance with the applicable aircraft maintenance manuals. Implement preventive maintenance programmes and document performance and maintenance records on aircraft and equipment. Interface daily with customers at numerous levels. Use, understand and interpret a wide variety of technical data, from OEM manuals to engineering drawings. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Licences & Qualifications Valid A&P licence. Active Secret DoD clearance at the time of hire. Must maintain flight status requirements and pass an FAA Class III flight physical, completing altitude chamber training within the first 3-6 months. Valid driver's licence. Must be a U.S. citizen. Experience Bachelor's degree with 4 years, graduate degree with 2 years, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 8 years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems. Preferred: DHC-6, Caravan 208B, CN235 and CN295 experience; de Havilland, Textron and Airbus aircraft experience; PWC and GE engine experience. Requirements Willing and able to lift, bend and climb. Required travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong communication skills. Able to work alone or within a group, and to work extended hours and weekends when required. Additional Information Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
