Role Overview The Field Engineering (FE) Specialist is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of the complete spectrum of avionics systems and proprietary communication systems incorporated in aircraft. The FE maintains, repairs, tests and calibrates various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices, such as transmitters, amplifiers, receivers, RF distribution equipment, computer controllers and workstations, on operational aircraft. Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina (on-site). Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm. Key Responsibilities Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles and strong troubleshooting skills to determine mission equipment malfunctions and restore aircraft mission systems to full operational status. Install and maintain Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) modifications to the aircraft and advise operations and maintenance personnel on their use. Fly with the aircraft to provide off-station maintenance support. Perform work in accordance with technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Interface daily with customers at numerous levels. Licences & Qualifications Active DoD Secret security clearance at the time of hire, with the ability to maintain a Top Secret with SCI. Ability to obtain and maintain flight status requirements, pass an FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training. Valid driver's licence. Must be a U.S. citizen. Preferred: active Top Secret with SCI; active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licence. Experience Bachelor's degree with 4 years, graduate degree with 2 years, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience with avionics, airborne networks and/or aircraft systems. Requirements Willingness and ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS. Willingness and ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours and overtime to meet company objectives. Role includes lifting, bending and climbing. Additional Information Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
