Job Description
Role Overview Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (A&C) within the Line Maintenance team at IndiGo, responsible for the inspection, certification and release to service of aircraft within the scope of the licence and authorisation held. Key Responsibilities Ensure that the AME licence and authorisation held is current and valid for the type of aircraft, engine and systems to be certified. Carry out the inspection and certification of maintenance work on airframe and power plant systems and components within the scope of the licence and authorisation. Ensure that all work performed in connection with maintenance follows the requirements and recommendations of the manufacturers. Ensure that approved methods, tooling, procedures and materials are used in carrying out the work. Ensure that all work orders and inspection schedules are properly completed and certified before the Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) is issued. Ensure that snags found during inspections and those reported by flight crew in flight are rectified by an approved method, and that major defects and their rectification are promptly reported and dealt with. Ensure that tools and equipment used during maintenance are calibrated, serviceable and not mishandled in use. Ensure that only approved materials and parts are used and that approved spares carry the necessary documentation and certification before installation on the aircraft. Follow the necessary caution and safety procedures when handling equipment and tools and when servicing aircraft or components. Report to the Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) or Shift In-charge whenever a defect is reported by flight crew or observed. Mentor technicians and ensure they have read the Quality Assurance Notices (QAN), General Instruction Circulars (GIC) and other technical instructions issued from time to time. Maintain discipline and a clean working environment. Remain in full uniform and presentable in line with company guidelines at all times while on duty. Ensure implementation of the Safety Policy and the safety management system within IndiGo Engineering. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Manager, Line Maintenance. Be aware of and comply with the safety responsibilities and accountabilities laid down in the IndiGo SMS Manual, chapter Safety Policy and Objectives. Requirements Education (mandatory): 10+2 and an AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) Diploma. Authorisation (mandatory): full-scope authorisation on the A320 or ATR. IT skills: MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint. Behavioural competencies: collaborative approach, good interpersonal skills and time management. Experience More than 5 years of certifying experience on the A320, or 7 or more years on the ATR.
