Role Overview Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Senior Aircraft Technician (Mechanical) to join its New Helicopter Completions (NHC) team in Columbus, Mississippi. You will perform detailed inspection, assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft components and systems, maintenance or refurbishing of aircraft and function checks of components, conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning, and diagnose malfunctions or failures, making adjustments, repairs or replacements of parts or components. Key Responsibilities Provide aircraft maintenance support for new helicopter completions and deliveries, STC development, the aircraft training fleet and demonstrations. Perform detailed assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment and alignment of parts and components. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctioning systems and components and determine the corrective action required to assure the safety and airworthiness of the aircraft. Conduct applicable airframe calendar and hourly inspections and hidden damage inspections of airframe structures and sub-assemblies. Perform aircraft disassembly and reassembly as required for aircraft movement, which may include loading and offloading aircraft to and from a trailer. Perform track and balancing of rotor systems and vibration analysis. Licences & Qualifications An A&P licence is preferred but not required. Experience Minimum of six years of experience as an aviation mechanic. Helicopter maintenance experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modification of aircraft structures. Requirements Must be able to read, write and speak English. Citizenship: US Person under the ITAR definition (U.S. citizen, green card holder or person covered under the existing ITAR licence). Work location: on site 70%. Physical requirements: vision to read screens, documents, reports and engineering drawings; hearing for conversations and production floor alarms; speaking in conversations and meetings; operation of office equipment and production tools such as hydraulic lifts; carrying up to 30 lb (14 kg) and lifting up to 50 lb (23 kg); pushing and pulling small office furniture, equipment and tools, pushing/pulling aircraft with ground wheels and turning rotors by hand daily; sitting for long periods; squatting or kneeling to retrieve items on low shelving; standing for discussions in offices or on the production floor; walking through office and production areas including uneven surfaces; independent travel at short notice, and being able to fly in the aircraft on a daily basis. Personal protective equipment: includes but is not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks and protective gloves as required by the site or customer site. For administrative work, steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, with appropriate hearing and eye protection as needed.
