Role Overview Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled Return to Service Technician to join its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) team in Miramar, Florida, in a hybrid role that combines technical repair expertise with quality inspection responsibilities. You will own the repair process from hands-on troubleshooting and repair through to final inspection and Return to Service. The position suits experienced professionals who enjoy both solving technical challenges and ensuring components meet the highest standards, and who take pride in precision, accountability and safety. Shift: Split shift, Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Work location: Onsite, 3601 Flamingo Rd, Miramar, Florida. Eligibility: this job requires a U.S. Person, meaning a lawful permanent resident as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents and individuals granted refugee or asylee status in the U.S. are considered U.S. persons. No security clearance is required. Key Responsibilities Perform assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing and overhaul of aircraft electronic accessories, components and subassemblies. Diagnose product failures and determine appropriate repair, rework, replacement or disposition, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, engineering requirements and company procedures. Conduct final inspections to verify product integrity, workmanship, documentation accuracy and conformance to customer, regulatory and quality requirements before return to service. Generate Authorised Release Certificates (ARC), FAA Form 8130 documentation, Certificates of Conformance, scrap certificates and other required release documentation. Read, interpret and apply engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, work instructions and specifications. Perform functional testing, electrical continuity, insulation resistance and dielectric testing, and unit shakedowns to verify performance and identify loose hardware or foreign objects. Record repair and inspection activities in SAP and other operating systems, maintaining complete and accurate maintenance records. Partner with technicians, engineering, quality and customer representatives to resolve technical issues, support audits and ensure products meet all Return to Service requirements. Identify nonconforming conditions, document findings and coordinate repair or corrective actions so that only compliant products are released. Support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe, organised work environment and consistently meeting environmental, health & safety and quality standards. Independently manage work assignments, prioritise multiple activities and provide technical support to teammates as needed. Serve as the site's Final Inspector during the latter portion of the mid shift, ensuring uninterrupted Return to Service support after first-shift operations conclude. Requirements Typically requires a high school diploma (or equivalent, for example a G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience. Ability to meet FAA language requirements under FAR 65.71(a)(2) and FAR 145.155. Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals and/or work instructions. Licences & Qualifications Preferred: knowledge of FAA regulations, quality systems and aerospace documentation requirements. Experience Preferred: 3+ years' experience repairing or inspecting aircraft components in an FAA Part-145 repair station or comparable environment. Preferred: experience performing final inspection or quality assurance responsibilities. Preferred: experience using SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
