Role Overview As a Repairman at the Columbus Engine Center you will work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module and component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. The role specialises in aircraft parts, with responsibility for machining components to exact specifications and ensuring the highest standards of precision, quality and safety, using advanced CNC equipment to produce, inspect and maintain critical aerospace parts. Work location: Onsite, 8801/8987 Macon Rd, Midland, Georgia. This is an FAA safety-sensitive position. Eligibility: U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorised to access information under this programme/contract. No security clearance is required. Key Responsibilities Use common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to perform repair functions on jet engines. Perform repairman duties on turbine engine components and accessories, including drilling, fastener removal, blending, installation of inserts and silicone repairs. Set up and operate CNC equipment, including vertical and horizontal milling machines, to achieve precise machining results. Perform detailed measurements and inspections using calibrated tools and precision instruments, and monitor and adjust machining processes for optimal performance. Ensure all phases of assembly and disassembly comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes, maintaining adherence to quality standards and technical specifications. Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives. Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges and maintain efficient production workflows. Understand and follow work instructions. Demonstrate commitment to environment, health & safety and continuous improvement programmes by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training and supporting applicable committee activities. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline. 3+ years' experience in an aviation mechanic role, aviation field experience, or appropriate technical training (ASE certification or military equivalent). Basic understanding of DAT: disassembly, assembly, test. U.S. citizenship, as only U.S. citizens are authorised to access information under this programme/contract. Licences & Qualifications Preferred: A&P Licence. Experience Preferred: ability to use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers and micrometers. Preferred: previous work experience in jet engine overhaul. Preferred: proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Additional Information Role type: Onsite. Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite; this includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of the engines. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
