Role Overview As Quality Control Lead you will guide a team of inspectors, ensuring every aircraft leaving the facility meets the highest FAA standards. The role balances hands-on inspection with team leadership, from reviewing flight logs and verifying repairs to mentoring inspectors and driving operational excellence. The Lead Inspector is responsible to the Supervisor of Quality Control for the activities of all inspectors assigned to the crew. Key Responsibilities Assist and direct all personnel assigned to your crew, and assign and monitor inspectors' duties Review incoming aircraft maintenance logs for work required to be accomplished at the repair station Procure the required forms and work orders and transfer the work to be accomplished onto forms Survey all work in progress, and accept or reject work accomplished for all items generated on the work order Ensure shift inspectors give essential tie-in to their relief so that work in progress is properly completed Take responsibility for entries in the aircraft maintenance flight logs and for the airworthiness release Check for proper installation, security, safety and workmanship, and for proper material and fasteners Conduct pressure checks if necessary Check for conformance to specification per the repair, maintenance or other relevant manual, or applicable FAA-approved engineering instruction Requirements Good working knowledge of all aircraft job tasks and a thorough understanding of applicable FARs and company policies and procedures Thorough knowledge of aircraft manuals and related materials Strong knowledge of all company and customer paperwork and thorough knowledge of blueprint and drawing instructions Interpersonal relations: a strong level of interpersonal skill is required to maintain effective relationships with various departments, inspectors, co-workers, supervision and the customer Physical environment: easy mobility around various sections of aircraft; ability to cope with stress and long working hours; standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces; must be able to lift 50 lbs and report to work regularly Licences & Qualifications Licence: A&P licence required High school diploma, GED or equivalent Experience 5 years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience What We Offer Medical, vision and dental insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off (PTO) Company-provided uniforms 6 nationally recognised holidays Short-term and long-term disability insurance Life insurance Company-sponsored events throughout the year Additional Information Background and drug screening: successful completion of a background check and drug screening is a mandatory condition of employment. Requirements
