Role Overview ST Engineering is looking for experienced Quality Control Inspectors who ensure every aircraft meets the highest standards before returning to service. The role is responsible for the initial inspection and surveillance of commercial-type aircraft undergoing maintenance and repair, and suits an FAA-certified A&P professional with a sharp eye for detail. Key Responsibilities Carry out the initial inspection of commercial-type aircraft using customer-provided work instructions. Inspect and accept or reject all required inspection items and non-routine work accomplished on commercial-type aircraft. Inspect aircraft and components using special tooling and equipment. Perform weight and balance functions on commercial-type aircraft and complete the calculations. Audit aircraft maintenance work packages. Sign the logbook airworthiness release. Inspect and report findings on facility inspections. Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep the work area clean. Maintain records of work performed on on-the-job training forms for the training department. Successfully complete any training courses deemed necessary by supervision, and perform any work assigned by your lead or supervisor. Requirements Working knowledge of, or the ability to acquire skills in, the following: component replacement (including hydraulic, air-conditioning, pneumatic and engine components); basic hydraulic system operations; basic flight control systems; landing gear servicing; basic troubleshooting; tyre and brake change procedures; galley installation; engine starter removal and installation; cargo conversion; cockpit window and windshield replacement; entry-door slide removal and replacement; brake rider duties and aircraft towing; assistance with powerplant removal and replacement; main fuel control adjustment; and engine trim procedures. Knowledge of aircraft manuals and related technical materials. Knowledge of Air Transport Association (ATA) codes. Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures. Knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation procedures, including job cards and timecards, routine and non-routine cards, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), service bulletins and work sign-off procedures. A high level of interpersonal skill to maintain effective relationships with co-workers and supervision. Licences & Qualifications High school diploma or GED. FAA A&P certification required. Recorded training on at least three aircraft types. Preferred: general familiarisation training on the MD-11, A320, B737NG, B747-400, B777 and/or B787. Experience Minimum five years' experience in heavy commercial and/or military maintenance, or six months at skill level 3 mechanic. Minimum two years of inspection experience. Additional Information Working environment. Work is performed under general direction, normally after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures and desired results. The role requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft, mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort usually caused by long working hours, standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces, the ability to lift 25 lbs and regular attendance.
