Powerplant Line Maintenance Lead - Second Shift

Job Description

Role Overview Power Plant Line Maintenance Lead (second shift) in the Power Plant Line Maintenance department (Building 3, 161), reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager. The purpose of the role is to direct a crew of mechanics performing day-to-day maintenance on various types of aircraft engines. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with the Supervisor on the scheduling and assignment of daily job tasks Lead and direct subordinate crew members in the performance of job tasks Ensure all identified maintenance discrepancies are documented properly Perform troubleshooting on various types of engines and assist in determining the proper course of maintenance action as needed Make sure all crew members are using the proper documentation and maintenance manual references Assist crew members with any maintenance tasks given Assist the supervisor in identifying training needs Assist the supervisor in identifying any safety-related issues that arise Provide on-the-job training to both licensed and non-licensed crew members as needed Licences & Qualifications Licence: Powerplant licence required; an A&P licence is preferred High school diploma or GED Valid driver's licence Must be willing to obtain a run and taxi certificate for all Kalitta Air aircraft types Experience 5 years of experience working on and troubleshooting turbine engines Strong troubleshooting skills relevant to turbine engines Requirements Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily Must be able to work overtime and weekends, and to go on road trips within reason Able to read, write, speak and understand English; able to write routine reports and correspondence, and to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff Additional Information Physical demands: Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs or more, climb ladders, bend, twist and climb under engines while they are in engine stands. Work environment: Duties are performed in maintenance, hangar and outdoor settings, in various weather conditions and temperatures. Requirements
