Outstation Maintenance Supervisor (ORD)

Job Description

Role Overview Outstation Maintenance Supervisor (ORD) in the Maintenance department, reporting to the ORD Station Manager. The role carries responsibility for station personnel and for the effective and economical delivery of maintenance work at the outstation. Key Responsibilities Responsible for all station personnel with regard to administrative requirements, training schedules, work performance and compliance with the company policies and procedures contained in the GMM Develop and maintain sound personnel and labour relations, employee safety awareness and open communication within the department Ensure the department's functions are planned and carried out effectively and economically Responsible for the discipline and efficient utilisation of the production personnel under supervision, including disciplinary action and recommending termination, and for coordinating with the required management personnel to ensure effective completion of maintenance, preventive maintenance, alteration and repair of company aircraft and ground support equipment Ensure tools, spare parts and assigned equipment are cared for per company policy and are readily available when needed Coordinate and communicate with the Line Station Managers and Maintenance Control Revise manuals within the department, ensure the revision status is current and return signed revision transmittals Ensure personnel are using current working copies of the manuals relevant to the job at hand Perform other duties assigned by the Line Maintenance Station Manager and the Director of Maintenance Licences & Qualifications Licence: FAA Airframe & Power Plant certificate; must be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable Experience At least 1 year of experience maintaining the same category and class of aeroplanes operated by Kalitta Air Requirements Must be organised and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook Able to read, write, speak and understand English; able to write routine reports and correspondence, and to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff Must be a US citizen Additional Information The Maintenance Supervisor may delegate any assigned duties to a qualified assistant; such delegation does not relieve them of overall responsibility. Physical demands: The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear, and use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, to eye level Lift 10 pounds with each arm overhead Twist and turn using normal strength forces Climb numerous flights of stairs Work on ladders and lifts, and in some cases at high elevations Work in a squatting position Work in all weather conditions Work environment: Work is performed primarily in a construction and maintenance setting. The noise level is usually loud.

Requirements
