Role Overview The Maintenance Controller is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient maintenance operation of the airline's fleet. The role provides real-time technical oversight and direction to maintenance personnel, monitors aircraft status and coordinates maintenance support to minimise operational disruption while ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Provide clear information on maintenance status, action plans, return-to-service estimates and other technical information to Contour Flight Operations, management and Maintenance Department personnel. Communicate directly with flight crew members when operational discrepancies are discovered and obtain all information technicians need for prompt, effective repairs. Use maintenance tracking computer systems and carry out the planning, scheduling and logistics needed to complete all scheduled maintenance within the requirements of the aircraft inspection programmes. Update the computerised maintenance tracking programme with verified compliance information using audited return-to-service documentation. Update Flight Operations Software (FOS) in real time to indicate fleet maintenance status. Ensure mechanical delays are handled safely and expeditiously and in accordance with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). Coordinate with Flight Operations, Maintenance and Purchasing as required to expedite aircraft return to service. Control and track all deferred maintenance items (DMI) and ensure all parts needed to clear DMIs are ordered per procedure. Authorize deferred maintenance items (DMI, MEL, CDL and MCI) and ensure all deferrals are accomplished in accordance with company manuals and the FARs. Complete and distribute all applicable forms and documents in accordance with the procedures set out in the company General Maintenance Manual. Track parts and equipment while in transit to an aircraft on ground (AOG). Provide the point of contact and control for maintenance performed on company aircraft away from the main maintenance base by company personnel or contract maintenance. Monitor and schedule short-term inspections and Airworthiness Directives (AD) - short term being seven (7) days or less and/or 100 flight hours or less. Obtain required approvals and complete Ferry Flight Authorization Forms. Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed on company aircraft. Other duties as assigned by leadership. Requirements Must be at least 23 years of age. Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent working knowledge of aircraft systems, components and methods. Understands OEM technical data manuals and how to quickly obtain the needed information and procedures. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, inventory software and tracking systems. Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks. Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and submit to and pass FAA and company-mandated random drug and alcohol tests. Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail. Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to work in a safe, professional manner adhering to OSHA, EPA, state and federal regulations. Must have reliable internet access. Licences & Qualifications FAA Airframe and Powerplant licence required. Completion of formal aircraft maintenance training for large turbine-powered aeroplanes. Experience Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an aircraft mechanic and/or inspector on large, multi-engine jet aircraft. Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience on the Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet 200, the Embraer 135 ER/LR, the Embraer 145 LR or the Embraer Legacy 600. Experience in airline day-to-day maintenance operations preferred. Travel privileges: non-revenue/space available (NRSA) travel on Contour from hire, plus access to MyID Travel after 6 months of active service. Leaves of absence: medical leave, non-medical family care leave, maternity and paternity leave and personal leave, as set out in the Employee Handbook. The starting annual salary for this position is between $75,000.00 and $95,000.00 based on prior work experience. Work on a Contour observed holiday is paid at 2 times the hourly rate; the observed holiday policy is set out in the Employee Handbook provided during onboarding.
