Role Overview This full-time Aircraft Maintenance Controller position reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance Control and interacts with the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, Systems Operations Control staff and company flight crews. Responsibilities cover the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the company across a variety of maintenance tasks on company aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements, have good communication skills and reflect the values and culture of the company while working with flight crews in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Act as liaison for the maintenance department, communicating effectively with Operations, flight crews, flight mechanics and others as part of the daily operation Act as primary point of contact for all mechanical discrepancies that may affect the daily operation of company aircraft Work with maintenance and supervisory personnel to determine whether discrepancies are deferrable under approved MEL and NEF guidelines Coordinate with company and contract maintenance providers to work aircraft discrepancies and planned maintenance events so aircraft return to service with minimal downtime Work with SOC to coordinate travel to and from AOG aircraft for flight mechanics Enter all maintenance-related discrepancies into computer tracking systems as required Determine corrective actions based on aircraft service history, analysis, General Maintenance Manual (GMM) guidance and company guidelines Promote teamwork among maintenance personnel and flight crews Uphold safety and security procedures and awareness Obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Control Supervisor or Director of Maintenance Licences & Qualifications Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate High school diploma or GED Experience Five (5) or more years' experience on commercial aircraft in a Part 121/145 environment required Two (2) years' experience on Boeing 737s highly preferred Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the internet Requirements Strong attention to detail Effective oral and written communication Ability to read and understand technical documents and wiring diagrams Valid driver's licence and a driving record from your state of primary residence that meets the company's insurance standards Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, a pre-employment drug test and a criminal history records check (CHRC) Eligible to work in the United States Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a team environment Travel may be required Additional Information Eastern Air Express is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Requirements
