Role Overview The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the daily operation of the Quality Control (QC) department at their location, including the development, oversight and accomplishment of daily aircraft inspection activities. The role reports to the Manager, Quality Control and supports overall surveillance of the aircraft maintenance system to ensure compliance with company maintenance procedures and regulatory requirements. It requires strong communication across all areas of Operations, including Technical Operations, Aircraft Maintenance, Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Engineering. Pay: entry pay is based on your experience (up to $39.00 starting pay) and Breeze's established criteria. A $2.00 shift differential is added for work between 9:00 PM and 7:30 AM. Key Responsibilities Administer Breeze Airways policies for Quality Control and inspection in a line maintenance environment. Conduct surveillance and oversight of work performed at line maintenance locations to ensure Breeze standards and those prescribed by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) are maintained. Perform aircraft Required Inspection Items (RII) as described in company manuals. Perform materials receiving inspections as described in company manuals. Perform engine borescope inspections in line with engineering orders and OEM data. Perform NDT inspections in line with engineering orders and OEM data. Plan and control the application of inspection and quality control methods and procedures to ensure safe, reliable and economic performance of Breeze aircraft. Support the Quality Control Program, including Required Inspection Items and RII Authorized Inspectors as specified in the Breeze GMM. Support the Receiving Inspection Program and its procedures as specified in the Breeze GMM. Monitor workmanship and materials to verify compliance with applicable Breeze and FAA regulations and standards. Run an ongoing programme to raise the level of professionalism and state-of-the-art inspection practice within the inspection department. Administer and support the NDT programme, its performance and workmanship, verifying compliance with Breeze and FAA regulations and standards. Oversee the establishment and implementation of tool procedures and monitor tooling policies and calibration procedures so that tooling meets conformity, equivalency and all calibration standards. Develop recommendations for new tools that increase tool and equipment availability, reliability or maintenance capability, and support calibration procedures based on manufacturers' recommendations. Recommend changes to the maintenance programme and work specifications based on recurring discrepant conditions found on Breeze aircraft. Apprise the Manager of Quality Control and the Chief Inspector of any issue that may affect the safety, quality or schedule of Breeze aircraft during maintenance. Provide leadership and direction so that high standards of performance are maintained in quality and safety. Maintain compliance with SMS, company safety policies and procedures and federal regulations by reporting any hazard or potential hazard, and remain current in SMS training. Perform other duties assigned by the Manager, Quality Control and the Chief Inspector. Requirements At least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement. Understanding and working knowledge of FAR Parts 43, 65, 91, 121 and 145. Valid driver's licence and valid passport with no travel restrictions. Authorisation to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. Flexible and willing to work days, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime if needed. Willing to travel up to 30% of the time and to work with other departments as needed. Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test. Must pass a TSA fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check. Able to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge in accordance with TSA requirements. Able to read, write, speak and understand English; must be fluent in English. Self-starter with a team mentality and a culture-driven mindset. Preferred At least two years in a management or leadership role. Degree in aerospace, aviation maintenance or business. Ten years of FAR Part 121 air carrier aircraft maintenance experience. Understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) rules. Licences & Qualifications Current, valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant licence (A&P) with no history of infractions. Experience Five years of aviation maintenance experience, including at least three years in Quality Control, Quality Assurance or Inspection. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent verbal and written communication and strong presentation skills, including communicating with leadership. Able to handle high-stress situations, multi-task easily and work with colleagues of many different personalities. BDL stipend: QC Inspectors at Bradley also receive a stipend of $800 per month. Starting pay up to $39.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $2.00 night shift differential. Additional Information Physical demands and working conditions: stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift; frequent bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling to complete inspections; climb ladders, maintenance stands and stairs to reach elevated areas; periodic sitting for administrative tasks; lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally (with assistance as needed); work in confined spaces, awkward positions and varying weather on the ramp or in the hangar; frequent use of hands and arms to operate tools and handle components; adequate vision for close inspection and hearing to detect unusual sounds, with exposure to noise and fumes.
