Role Overview The Licensed B1 Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with maintenance, inspection and legislative standards as specified by the UK CAA and the Quality and Airworthiness Manager. Shift pattern: 19:00 to 07:00, 4 on / 4 off (nights). Key Responsibilities Act as an inspector in support of a specific aircraft, line or base maintenance input in accordance with MOE Part 145, as revised Perform the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of a Licensed Mechanical Senior Inspector when requested by a Service Team Manager When requested by a Maintenance Team Leader or Service Team Manager, manage the daily manpower resources (licensed mechanical and avionics inspectors and fitters) assigned to a specific aircraft line or base maintenance input Certify only those tasks for which the holder has been trained and authorised; inspect and certify at the Farnborough main base and at other locations worldwide Carry out any other maintenance tasks requested by the Maintenance Team Leader; for base maintenance this can include Category C certification for those qualified in accordance with MOE Part 34, as revised Ensure that assigned line or base maintenance commitments are fulfilled within the assigned timescale, and inform the Maintenance Team Leader and Service Team Manager as soon as possible in the event of any delay Ensure that all aircraft maintenance documentation relevant to work personally performed or supervised is completed in full, including all task stage requirements, before the end of each shift or reassignment to another work task during the same shift Promote and ensure that the quality of workmanship in the final product meets a standard acceptable to the UK CAA, complying with statutory and company standards for all maintenance and design change work on aircraft and components, including correct and adequate standards of cleanliness and tidiness for the work in hand Understand and share the strategic position of the department in relation to Product Support, and advise the Service Team Manager of any difficulties or shortcomings experienced Maintain awareness of departmental measures for monitoring goals, product delivery and quality, and support continued departmental success Ensure handovers are carried out as required to maintain work flow, and attend stand-up board meetings to roll out performance communications and discussions Carry out such other duties as may from time to time be delegated by the Service Team Manager or Department Manager Requirements Extensive combination of line and base maintenance experience Evidence of aircraft inspection and certification experience Certification experience within a Part-145 organisation required Experience within the corporate aviation industry an advantage Good working knowledge of aviation legislation Good verbal and written communication skills Good practical computer user skills Flexible approach to working patterns Able to demonstrate a well-organised approach to daily job tasks Licences & Qualifications UK CAA aircraft maintenance licence with the relevant aircraft type ratings required Certification experience within a Part-145 approved organisation required Additional Information Job category: Quality Assurance Travel: None Shift: UK shift pattern 4x4, 19:00-07:00 Employment type: Full-time Posting end date: 2 October 2026 Gulfstream does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position, unless the applicant is a currently sponsored Gulfstream employee.

Requirements

  • Certification experience within a Part-145 organisation required
