Role Overview STS Technical Services is seeking Licensed Avionics Technicians to support aircraft maintenance and modification operations in Lafayette, Louisiana. In this role you will perform avionics installations, troubleshooting, system testing and modification work in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures and manufacturer specifications. Key Responsibilities Installation and modification Perform avionics and electrical installations, removals and modifications on assigned aircraft Fabricate and assemble wiring, harnesses, panels, connectors and related hardware using approved drawings, wiring diagrams and technical data Read, interpret and work from maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications Coordinate work activities with maintenance teams, sheet metal technicians, engineering, quality assurance and vendors System testing and functional checks Perform inspections, functional checks, operational checks and system testing on installed avionics and electrical systems Verify correct installation, configuration and system performance prior to return to service Use and maintain standard and specialised test equipment, instruments, gauges, meters and tooling Conduct continuity and functional checks during and after installation activities Document inspection results, discrepancies and completed work in accordance with company procedures Troubleshooting and repair Perform troubleshooting, inspections, repairs and corrective actions on avionics, electrical and instrument systems and components Determine component status, including serviceable, unserviceable and due-inspection conditions Route components to the appropriate repair, inspection or service destination as required Licences & Qualifications Licensed avionics technician with the ability to work to FAA regulations, company procedures and manufacturer specifications Additional Information STS Technical Services offers direct hire, contract and temp-to-perm career opportunities with industry-leading support and long-term career potential. Requirements

  • Perform avionics and electrical installations, removals and modifications on assigned aircraft
  • Fabricate and assemble wiring, harnesses, panels, connectors and related hardware using approved drawings, wiring diagrams and technical data
  • Read, interpret and work from maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications
  • Coordinate work activities with maintenance teams, sheet metal technicians, engineering, quality assurance and vendors
  • Perform inspections, functional checks, operational checks and system testing on installed avionics and electrical systems
  • Verify correct installation, configuration and system performance prior to return to service
  • Use and maintain standard and specialised test equipment, instruments, gauges, meters and tooling
  • Conduct continuity and functional checks during and after installation activities
  • Document inspection results, discrepancies and completed work in accordance with company procedures
