Licensed Aircraft Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview Licensed Aircraft Engineers are responsible for releasing an aircraft or its components to service after maintenance, within the extent of their authorisation, and issue the Aircraft Certificate of Release to Service accordingly. Certified Staff must be able to determine when an aircraft is ready for release to service and when it should not be released. Key Responsibilities Release the aircraft to service after the satisfactory completion of maintenance Guide and support mechanics during the performance of maintenance tasks Supervise maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations (repairs or modifications) performed by mechanics under their supervision, to the extent necessary to ensure proper execution Use the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer's maintenance manual or the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, or other methods acceptable to the authority Use the tools, equipment and test apparatus necessary to ensure work is completed in accordance with accepted industry practice; where the manufacturer recommends special equipment or test apparatus, use it or an equivalent acceptable to the authority Complete all required maintenance within the available maintenance downtime Release maintenance documentation upon satisfactory completion of maintenance and ensure records are properly archived Record maintenance details, or make precise references to them, in the aircraft technical log system Licences & Qualifications Licensed aircraft engineer with certifying authorisation covering the aircraft or components released

Requirements

• Release the aircraft to service after the satisfactory completion of maintenance
