Job Description

Role Overview The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance functions performed on company aircraft by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Mechanics and Apprentices, in accordance with all company policies and procedures and all federal aviation regulations. This vacancy sits in the structures area. The role sits in the Maintenance department and reports to the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor/Manager (Structures). Key Responsibilities Oversee and assist with approved work within the scheduled shift, coordinating all activities with the Maintenance Supervisors. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all assigned work documents and records. Oversee on-the-job training during the work shift so that qualification standards are met and maintained. Research all pertinent information and material for work scheduled on aircraft. Oversee and assist in the clean-up of the maintenance work area and ensure all maintenance areas meet good housekeeping standards. Maintain positive tool control accountability at all times and report lost or found tools to management immediately. Perform data entries as required. Comply with and implement the necessary procedures of the MEL/CDL/NEF program. Monitor the proper completion of aircraft records, such as logbook pages, work cards, non-routines and engineering documents (EOs, EAs and similar). Maintain familiarity with the training requirements defined in the AMTM and ensure training is current before performing the functions and tasks of the position. Always follow approved published procedures and never deviate from them unless a deviation is properly authorized. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and meet any location-specific requirements. Must be able to obtain an Airport SIDA badge and a United States Customs seal if required. Language: ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English, write routine reports and correspondence, and give and receive verbal and written direction to team members. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Licences & Qualifications FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe, Powerplant or both ratings; certification must be provided upon hire and/or on request. FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe, Powerplant or both ratings; the specific rating required may be reviewed based on location and position. Must obtain an Engine Run / Taxi qualification when requested by management, if applicable to the location. Experience Two (2) years of experience performing maintenance on Boeing 747-400, 777F / 777-300 or similar aircraft types is recommended but not required. Relevant maintenance areas include maintenance checks, engine changes, gear changes, structural repairs, flight control rigging and component maintenance on Boeing 747-400, 777F / 777-300 or similar aircraft. Successful completion of an accredited A&P mechanic training course is accepted as an alternative. Additional Information Physical Demands The position requires extremely strenuous physical work, involving objects in excess of 100 lbs occasionally and in excess of 50 lbs frequently.
