About the Company Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, is a South African aviation company. This is a permanent position with market-related remuneration. Role Overview Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, has a vacancy for a Junior Certified Aviation Technician (Avionics) – Flight Line at its Cape Town base. The successful applicant will report to the Crew Chief – Flight Line. Key Responsibilities Conduct line maintenance inspections. Carry out routine inspections on the various avionics systems on the aircraft. Perform fault finding and rectify defects based on the fault identified. Perform weekly service checks. Perform thorough daily inspections of the aircraft to identify any potential issues or defects. Complete the maintenance tasks necessary to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft. Adhere to established maintenance procedures and safety standards. Record and sign off all activities in line with SACAA requirements, ensuring all legal aspects are complied with. Comply with health and safety requirements at all times to protect personal and personnel safety and to prevent fire and accidents or incidents. Ensure the work area, equipment and tooling are properly maintained and safe before starting any job, to prevent accidents or incidents involving aircraft and staff. Apply analytical thinking and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks. Licences & Qualifications Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent. Essential: Trade test certificate in an avionics-related trade (for example Avionician, Aircraft Instrument Mechanic, Aircraft Electrician or Aircraft Radio Technician), recognised by the SACAA. Essential: Licensed AME with SACAA W1, W2 and W3. Essential: B737-800 system courses. Advantageous: B737-8 (MAX) system course. Advantageous: Oxygen course. Advantageous: Compass swing.
