Role Overview EcoServices is seeking candidates for an open part-time position at its LAX facility, based at the Santa Fe Springs, CA site. The Part-Time Junior Aviation Service Technician provides labour support to the Aviation Technicians delivering on-wing EcoPower jet engine compressor washes at regional airports, and may be required to drive company commercial vehicles (no CDL required). The role is part-time and on-call, reporting to the LAX EcoServices Service Center Manager or designee. Candidates must be certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 and hold a valid driver's licence to be considered. The position also requires being able to obtain LAX badging with company sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Support the maintenance of all service centre equipment and engage in the continuous improvement of service centre processes. Ensure all flight-line-related services are performed on time, safely and professionally. Work closely with managers and mechanics from various airlines, build an understanding of customer engine maintenance and repair preferences, provide feedback and work towards resolving customer in-service issues. Complete, update and maintain internal records and databases for all maintenance performed in accordance with the company's FAA procedures. Licences & Qualifications Applicants must be certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 (FAA Airframe & Powerplant). Valid and current US driver's licence. AA/AS degree and/or technical school certificate desired. Must comply with the FAA drug and alcohol pool and with DOT and FMCSA requirements; EcoServices is an FAA-regulated facility and compliance is a condition of employment. Experience Aviation maintenance experience is a requirement; one year of aviation maintenance experience required. Broad knowledge of engine hardware and flight line operations and procedures, and familiarity with the safe operation of heavy equipment and ground support equipment around aircraft. Additional Information Schedule and hours: the work is on-call in nature during weeknight shifts, arriving at the shop around 8:00 to 9:00pm depending on the customer schedule. Nightly hours vary with customer demand but are typically 5 to 8 hours when called in. No minimum hours are guaranteed; the advert states an expectation of 3 to 5 nights per week in the range of 20 to 30 hours weekly, and elsewhere states a currently expected range of 12 to 15 hours per week. The Station Manager will try to give a schedule at the end of the prior week, although occasional short-notice requests may occur. Some day shift and weekend assistance may be requested, based solely on personal availability. Job type: part-time; local candidates only, Los Angeles, CA.
