Role Overview As an Interiors Mechanic you play a key role in the safety, comfort and appearance of commercial aircraft interiors, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining the components that define the in-flight experience — from lavatory systems to cabin seating. The role is responsible for interior maintenance and repair on commercial aircraft types and includes leading groups as required by the supervisor or manager. Key Responsibilities Prepare parts requisitions and orders, research illustrated parts (IPC) and order parts as needed. Remove and reinstall lavatories, galleys, passenger service units (PSU), closets and windscreens. Perform operational checks and drop checks of the passenger oxygen system. Perform passenger seat break-over checks and pitch alignment, and maintain and repair seats. Install mylar, and cut and serge carpet from prints. Apply advanced troubleshooting skills and fluent blueprint and LOPA reading skills. Perform all leak and operational checks on wastewater, potable water and oxygen systems. Carry out all aircraft removals, installations, repairs and overhauls in the interiors field. Work aircraft modifications, EOs, ADs and service bulletins, and look up SB, BMS, BAC, SRM, CMM and similar documents. Write non-routines, order parts and perform all levels of interiors inspection per work cards, and comply with and evaluate all non-routine and routine work cards. Install, cover and paint interior items. Service oxygen bottles in the shop and on the aircraft. Requirements Advanced knowledge of FARs, RSQCMs and PPMs. Knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials, ATA codes and maintenance procedures. Knowledge of all applicable FARs and company policies and procedures. Knowledge of all paperwork procedures, including job cards and time cards, routine and non-routine cards, SRMs, service bulletins and work sign-off/sell-off procedures. Proficiency in all preceding skill-level attributes. Physical: easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to remove, rectify and replace systems or components in a timely manner; mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort usually caused by long working hours; capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one's own safety due to the dangers involved; ability to distinguish colours; standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces; ability to lift 50 lbs and report to work regularly.
