Role Overview Join Pratt & Whitney at the Columbus Engine Center as a Mechanic, playing a critical role in the overhaul, repair and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft worldwide. You will apply your mechanical expertise in a hands-on, team-driven environment to restore engines to peak performance, safety and reliability. Shift: 2nd Weekend Shift, Friday to Sunday, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Work location: Onsite, 8801/8987 Macon Rd, Midland, Georgia. Eligibility: U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorised to access information under this programme/contract. No security clearance is required. Key Responsibilities Work as part of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. Use common hand tools together with a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble, disassemble and test jet engines. Ensure all phases of assembly and disassembly comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes, maintaining adherence to quality standards. Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives. Participate in ongoing cross-training across assembly cells and support functions; cross-functional teamwork supports operational flexibility, consistent throughput and high-quality engine delivery. Requirements High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 1+ years' experience in a mechanic role, or appropriate technical training. Licences & Qualifications Preferred: Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Licence or Powerplant (P) Certificate. Experience Preferred: aviation engine overhaul and repair experience. Preferred: hands-on experience in one or more of disassembly, inspection, assembly or turbine engine test operations. Preferred: familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma. Preferred: experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
