About the Company Airbus Helicopters produces UH-72A Lakota helicopters for the U.S. Army and H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers at Columbus, Mississippi, on the eastern border of the state. The site hosts the helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and the Centre of Excellence for the entire North America region. The team focuses on quality, productivity and efficiency, ensuring the highest quality of care and safety is built into every aircraft assembled and maintained. Role Overview Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Flightline Supervisor to join its Flightline team in Columbus, Mississippi. You will be responsible for supervising the "Part 21" H125 and H145 and "Part 145" H125, H130, H135, H145 and H160 flightline teams through proper planning, execution and accomplishment of the flight test schedule and goals for all repair station and production aircraft. Key Responsibilities Supervision (80%) Meet delivery schedules by supervising a team of 15 to 20 flight test technicians. Adjust manpower and work with other departments as needed to execute over 300 production work orders supporting flight test and conformity of multiple Airbus Helicopters airframes (H145, H125, H130, H135, H160). Ensure leads and technicians have the tools, data and support required to perform their functions in line with the published schedule. Ensure compliance with rules, regulations and company policies and procedures, such as FAA repair station, FOP/GOP, ISO and OSHA, by maintaining a presence in areas of responsibility and regularly spot-checking aircraft, work books and quality gates. Review training requirements, records and classes to ensure employees are up to date and qualified to perform the given tasks. Develop, schedule and organise training sessions on topics outside the training manager's responsibilities, and organise weekly team meetings to communicate customer and management needs to the flightline teams. Assist the team in troubleshooting problems and coordinate with supporting departments such as engineering and QA to recommend resolution plans. Conduct periodic performance evaluations. Assist in the hiring process for new employees, make recommendations for transfers, promotions and merits, and document disciplinary actions when required. Take responsibility for the completeness of all work performed by flight test technicians on all Part 21 and Part 145 aircraft. Ensure every helicopter is assembled, inspected, repaired and tested in accordance with the customer's identified configuration and issued production orders. Maintain a close working relationship with supporting departments regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, documentation, supplies, tools and special instructions. Redirect manpower and flight test requirements to accommodate changes in work scope requested by Programme Management. Work with Programmes and QA to coordinate offsite activities such as deliveries and maintenance. Research tooling purchases and supplies needed to support flightline activities and report needs to management. Reporting (20%) Maintain aircraft status reports for all Part 21 and Part 145 aircraft on the flightline, including customer incoming, flight test and delivery scenarios, and report to management as required. Provide manpower quotes and follow-up reports to the management and programmes teams. Provide daily status to management and flightline support staff. Report all employee health and aircraft related incidents to Safety in a timely manner. Licences & Qualifications Required: A&P rating; must be willing to use the A&P licence outside of the repair station. Preferred: I/A rating; OEM training/certification on any of the listed airframes. Education, required: bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Education, preferred: bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance management or equivalent work experience. Experience Minimum of ten years of related rotary-wing technical experience. Experience resolving technical issues. Thorough knowledge of A&P procedures and repair station procedures. Proficiency in FAA and FAR regulations. Familiarity with state and federal safety and environmental regulations applicable to this area of responsibility. Minimum five years of component installation and troubleshooting experience. Strong leadership skills; ability to adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs and act as a technical resource to less experienced employees. Preferred: working knowledge of Garmin, Microvibe, Helionix and Vision1000 systems; familiarity with the maintenance, principles of operation, technical requirements and systems of the H125, H130, H135, H145 and H160; 5 years of flight test experience; 3 years of Airbus experience. Requirements Travel: 10% domestic and international. Citizenship: US Person under the ITAR definition (U.S. citizen, green card holder or person covered under the existing ITAR licence). Clearance: none required. Work location: 90% on site. Physical requirements: vision to read screens, documents, reports and engineering drawings; hearing for conversations and production floor alarms; speaking in conversations and meetings; operation of office equipment and production tools such as hydraulic lifts; carrying and lifting up to 30 lb (14 kg); pushing and pulling small office furniture, equipment and tools; sitting for long periods; squatting or kneeling to retrieve items on low shelving; standing for discussions in offices or on the production floor; walking through office and production areas including uneven surfaces; independent travel at short notice, approximately bi-monthly.
