About the Company Airbus Americas, Inc. operates the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft on Airbus Way at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. Opened in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The site is part of the Airbus strategy to strengthen the U.S. aerospace industry and meet growing customer needs in the United States and beyond. Role Overview Airbus is looking for a Flight Line Mechanic to join the Mobile Manufacturing Team. The role covers Functional Test Procedures (FTP), pre- and post-flight inspection, and preparing built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness, including operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. The team assembles aircraft on two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family, alongside colleagues skilled in electrical, structures and quality. Key Responsibilities Perform aircraft system Final Test Procedure (FTP), pre/post-flight check lists and Daily Inspection (DI), preparing built aircraft for test flight readiness. Troubleshoot malfunctions; rig, repair and replace aircraft structures, components and systems of moderate difficulty. Maintain and rework aircraft components including landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems, and mechanical and cabin interior components. Service, repair and prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure and specifications. Perform post-dock maintenance daily check list, safety and security checks, and incoming inspection. Carry out day-to-day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance across the family. Refuel/defuel, jack and tow aircraft; service hydraulic and engine oil, aircraft tyres and struts, handling hazardous material in line with policy. Read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures: FTP, WO, AMM, IPC, AWD, SB and CMM. Perform sealing preparation, application and testing using knowledge of sealant characteristics such as storage, application, tack-free and cure times. Contribute to process improvement, root cause analysis, 5S, the daily team SQCDP project, and daily tool and FOD management. Support and train other aircraft technicians; work closely with the assigned lead on schedules, priorities, parts, supplies, tools and special instructions. Operate standard and specialised hand tools, power equipment, measuring and test equipment, jigs and fixtures, and licensed equipment such as crane, cherry-picker, fork lift, lifting platform and loading platform. Requirements Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory. Thorough knowledge of aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and powered and non-powered support equipment. Able to work in confined spaces, at height and in outdoor conditions. Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity. Licences & Qualifications Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licence. Experience Minimum 3 years of aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
