About the Company The team at the Airbus U.S. manufacturing facilities helps assemble aircraft on two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family. On the shop floor you will be surrounded by people who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas such as electrical, structure and quality. On “Airbus Way” you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Role Overview The Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight Line Avionics Technician to join its Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, Alabama. The ideal person for this job will perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedure tests (FTP) and pre- and post-flight daily inspections, and prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness, with the ability to learn new tasks and techniques for troubleshooting aircraft systems and supporting flight line operations at the Airbus FAL Mobile flight line organisation. Key Responsibilities Apply basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers and powered and non-powered support equipment. Read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures: AMM, IPC, AWD and SB. Perform work in confined space areas, at height and in outdoor environmental conditions. Use a variety of standard and specialised hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, test equipment and jigs / fixtures with the associated licence, such as crane, cherry picker, fork lift, lifting platform and loading platform. Requirements Must be willing to work a rotation shift schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel. Basic operating computer skills: Google. Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent. Licences & Qualifications Required: A&P, or FCC license. Required: ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate. Required: valid driver licence. Experience 3 years' experience with Applied Science in Avionics. 5 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
