Role Overview Under minimal supervision you will perform varied and complex tasks within the assigned cell, disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, assembling and final-prepping at least 80% of components within the shop, covering electric power and accessories. You will resolve most questions and problems, may serve as a resource on several topics, and refer only the most complex issues to higher levels. This is a 1st shift role, 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities Participate in the company's continuous improvement and environmental, health and safety activities and initiatives Understand and deliver on individual and departmental performance goals, working closely with supervisors and support personnel to resolve problems Enter and retrieve information from the SAP operating system to perform daily activities Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a neat and orderly work area Follow specific instructions and use all required equipment to perform assigned work according to FAA and company regulations, interfacing with customers such as government personnel or auditors as necessary Inspect and disposition components and modules, and rework, repair, scrap, replace or order components, modules and LRUs as required Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and test all types of manufactured electronic accessory components Check clearances, tolerances and alignment, making the replacements and adjustments needed to assure conformance to specified configurations Record data against accept or reject criteria to approved maintenance data, and identify proper parts by part number and serialisation Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance and dielectric testing of electromechanical devices Independently follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems Support and participate in the site's environmental, health and safety, quality and HR employee engagement initiatives and programmes What You Will Learn Repair and overhaul methodologies and protocols for aircraft components New technologies and innovation Leadership skills Troubleshooting skills and techniques Team member tasking and delegation How to ensure compliance with EH&S protocols and other regulations Requirements Typically a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED in the U.S., or vocational or technical education in a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Experience with CMMs, technical sheets, work instructions and/or blueprints Meet FAR 65.71(a)(2), being able to read, speak and understand English, or, for an applicant who does not meet this requirement and is employed outside the United States by a U.S. air carrier, hold a certificate endorsed valid only outside the United States; and FAR 145.155(b), under which a certified repair station must ensure its inspectors understand, read and write English This job requires a U.S. Person, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). No security clearance is required. Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite, including all production and maintenance employees. Regardless of role type, all employees have access to digital tools to work with colleagues around the world and access to Collins sites when their work requires in-person meetings. This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines, and the candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulation 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40.
