Role Overview Pratt & Whitney is seeking an F135 Engine Technician to join its F135 field team supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Maryland. You will work in a team environment with field service engineers, engineering staff and customers to provide world-class maintenance and support. The shift hours are 2:00pm to 10:30pm, 2nd shift. Key Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble and, as required, test Pratt & Whitney F135-PW-0100/600 gas turbine engines, modules and associated new technologies, plus the Rolls-Royce LiftFan system Carry out F135 engine flightline inspection and maintenance activities on F-35B/C Lightning II aircraft Perform routine maintenance of support equipment Find and use technical manuals for maintenance Participate in and comply with the requirements of the Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) Operating System and environmental, health and safety programmes, training and activities Requirements High school diploma or GED; the role typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or vocational or technical education in a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Experience in the disassembly, inspection and assembly of aircraft gas turbine engines Knowledge of how to interpret Safety Data Sheets and use PPE Able to work atop maintenance platforms, ascend and descend maintenance stands, lift 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet, position yourself to work underneath engine rails, inside the engine exhaust duct and in the aircraft inlet, and work with hands positioned overhead Accuracy in work performed is essential, and you must be able to adjust in a fast-paced team environment with changing and multiple priorities Able to use computers, with familiarity with Microsoft Office and PDF software Able to work overtime and holidays, any shift with adequate notice, and support periodic travel requirements Must pass a drug screen, a background check and any additional U.S. government security checks U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. A DoD Secret clearance must be active and in place after day one. Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite, including all production and maintenance workers. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility. Requirements
