Role Overview Helvetic Airways is looking for an independent and proactive personality to join its flight crew as a Direct Entry Commander. The Commander function is crucial within the flight crew: as Commander you hold final authority for the safe operation of the flight, including the assigned Helvetic Airways aircraft, crew and passengers, and you are the ultimate decision-maker for all operational matters on board, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance at all times. Key Responsibilities Exercise final authority over the safe conduct of the flight Lead and coordinate the entire flight crew Ensure compliance with all legal and operational regulations Make decisions in normal and exceptional circumstances Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, such as air traffic control and Operations Licences & Qualifications Valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with a valid Instrument Rating (IR) Class 1 medical certificate English at ICAO Level 4 or higher Strong command of German Swiss, EU-25/EFTA passport, or a passport without restrictions for travel to EU and EFTA countries Experience Minimum 1,000 hours as pilot in command on CS-25 aeroplanes in multi-pilot (MP(A)) operations Minimum 3,500 hours on CS-25 aeroplanes in multi-pilot (MP(A)) operations Several years of experience as a pilot in commercial aviation operations Requirements Takes clear responsibility for their own actions Strong leadership, teamwork and decision-making skills Communicates in a clear, binding and socially acceptable manner Mature and loyal personality, with high resilience and a strong sense of responsibility Impeccable reputation and clean record Competent in the operationally relevant procedural elements (PANS-OPS) What We Offer Remuneration of the function according to contract agreement Short-haul flying with an average flight time of 1.5 hours and two to four flights per day Type rating costs covered by Helvetic Airways Home base at Zurich Airport Rolling planning with various part-time models (40%, 60% or 80%) and OFF-wish options Possibility of additional functions as a trainer or in management, subject to need and suitability Attractive MyID Travel discounts for you and your family Additional Information Category: Flight Crew Selection process: summer 2026 Type rating start: autumn 2026 Location: Kloten, Zurich, Switzerland Applications are made via the Helvetic Airways career website. Requirements
