Role Overview As part of its expansion strategy, RwandAir is recruiting Captains (Pilot-in-Command). The Captain is nominated by RwandAir management to serve as aircraft Pilot-in-Command for each flight or series of flights on the Boeing 737, Airbus A330 or Dash 8 Q400 fleet. Reports to: Fleet Manager. Department: Flight Operations. Fleet: Boeing 737, Airbus A330 and DH8 Q400. Location: Kigali International Airport. Key Responsibilities Per OMA Section 1.5.24 (Captain), the Captain will: Maintain familiarity, and ensure other crew members are familiar, with relevant Rwandan and international air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures. Maintain familiarity with the provisions of the RwandAir Operations Manual necessary to fulfil the role. Use best endeavours to ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers. Act as a senior official of the company when away from base and assume the responsibilities reasonably expected of such an official. Be responsible for handling company operational logistics and/or credit cards, and render a flight expense account after the flight. Use best endeavours to maintain a high standard of discipline, behaviour and appearance of the crew while on duty and away from base. Notify the appropriate local authority without delay of any emergency that necessitated action in violation of local regulations or procedures. Immediately notify the nearest appropriate authority, by the quickest available means, of any accident involving the aircraft that results in serious injury or death, or substantial damage to the aircraft or property. Submit a report to the appropriate local authority and to the RCAA if required by the state of occurrence. Perform duties in line with laid-down procedures and report hazards and occurrences as part of safety responsibilities and accountabilities. Requirements ICAO English proficiency level 4 minimum. No history of accidents or incidents due to the pilot's gross negligence. Willingness to relocate permanently to Kigali. Licences & Qualifications ICAO, EASA or FAA licence, in accordance with OMA Section 5.1 (Flight Crew Qualifications). First-Class medical certificate. Radio Telephony licence, or an endorsement on the flight crew member's licence. Required type rating on licence: B737, A330 or Q400, as applicable. Experience Total flying time of 5,000 hours. 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command on type.
