Job Description

About the Company Airbus Helicopters is recruiting for its Blades Repair team in Grand Prairie, Texas. From building to servicing the next generation of aerospace products, the team focuses on quality, productivity and efficiency, ensuring the highest quality of care and safety is built into every aircraft assembled and maintained. A suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is home to Airbus Helicopters' U.S. regional headquarters, with more than 1,000 employees. Role Overview The Blades Senior Aircraft Technician fully understands the methods and procedures needed to assist and lead other technicians in a positive, team-oriented manner, perform incoming inspections, execute repair tasks and carry out final completion procedures, ensuring a quality product. Key Responsibilities Technical work (approx. 75%): clear understanding of the methods and procedures for incoming inspections. Proficient in the use of all hand tools needed to carry out inspection. Proficient in cleaning and stripping when required while performing repairs on all blade types. Proficient in repair techniques for the return to service of piece parts. Proficient in the assembly of finished products. Proficient in closing out all final paperwork and quality gates for QA creation of Form 8130-3. Proficient in producing technical emails and reports to Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Helicopters Deutschland. Maintain a high attention to detail and keep scrap levels to a minimum. Ensure completed work complies with customer specifications, FAA regulations, the manufacturer's applicable maintenance manuals, blueprints, RDAS and Airworthiness Directives. Customer interface (approx. 10%): correctly identify internal and external customers and their requirements, seek and act on regular customer feedback, support others to achieve agreed service levels and put business and customer interests ahead of local or individual interests. Logistics (approx. 5%): raise issues early, treat problems as improvement opportunities, listen respectfully when challenges are reported, dedicate the time needed to analyse root causes and seek assistance when unable to resolve issues independently. Accountability (approx. 5%): keep own role and responsibilities clear, take and own decisions at own level, stick to time, cost and quality commitments, flag early when commitments cannot be kept and stop to fix root causes so issues do not recur. Objectives (approx. 5%): know, apply and promote agreed standards, react immediately to deviations, persist through obstacles and review own work without compromising safety or quality. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education (required): high school diploma or equivalent experience. Preferred: A&P licence and some trade school. Licences & Qualifications Required: none. Preferred: FAA Airframe Certificate or equivalent. Experience Strong expertise on a minimum of two Airbus blade component models. Minimum five years of experience in aviation (an A&P or a Train the Trainer certificate can substitute for one year). Experience resolving technical issues, including those involving Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Helicopters Deutschland. Able to work in a team across diverse, multiple-stakeholder environments. Experience with management skills; recognised expert in blade repairs. Able to train and develop team members.
