Job Description

About the Company Airbus Helicopters is recruiting for its Blades Repair team in Grand Prairie, Texas. From building to servicing the next generation of aerospace products, the team focuses on quality, productivity and efficiency, ensuring the highest quality of care and safety is built into every aircraft assembled and maintained. A suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is home to Airbus Helicopters' U.S. regional headquarters, with more than 1,000 employees. Role Overview The technician performs various functions on rotor blades, including receiving, moving, inspection, tear down (disassembly, sanding, scraping), repair (bodywork, composite layup, painting), balancing and return to service, in accordance with Airbus Helicopters, Inc. documentation and procedures. The team member is expected to ensure a quality product. Key Responsibilities Technical work (approx. 80%): receive, move, clean, inspect, repair and assemble rotor blades. Maintain a close working relationship with the assigned lead regarding schedules, priorities and the availability of parts, supplies and tools. Develop a clear understanding of the methods and procedures used in rotor blade repairs. Effectively use all hand tools needed to carry out inspection and repairs. Develop skills in cleaning, sanding, bodywork and filling, and painting rotor blades and related components. Develop the skills to assemble finished products. Complete the required documentation for rotor blade inspection and repairs. Ensure work complies with customer specifications, FAA regulations, the manufacturer's applicable maintenance manuals, blueprints and RDAS. Customer interface (approx. 5%): correctly identify internal and external customers, understand their requirements proactively, look at work through the customer's eyes and advocate for customer interests. Logistics (approx. 5%): speak up early to make issues visible, treat challenges as improvement opportunities, listen respectfully to direction from team members and take the time to question root causes. Accountability (approx. 5%): keep own role and responsibilities clear, take decisions at own level and own their implementation, stick to time, cost and quality commitments and flag as early as possible when commitments cannot be kept. Objectives (approx. 5%): know, apply and promote agreed standards, react immediately to deviations, persist through obstacles and check and review own work without compromising safety or quality. Other duties as assigned; overtime may be required. Requirements Education (required): high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: trade school. Licences & Qualifications Required: none. Preferred: ASE, FAA Airframe Certificate and/or other trade-related certifications. Experience Required: minimum of two years of related experience in automotive (paint and body), aerospace, composite, woodworking or another related skill or trade. Trade school attendance or certification may be substituted for experience. Preferred: five years of automotive, aerospace, composite, woodworking or other related trade experience, plus an SAP background.
