About the Company Airbus Helicopters is the world's largest helicopter manufacturer, and the company's site at Oxford Airport is Britain's civil helicopter hub. Airbus Helicopters UK (AHUK) offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications. AHUK is the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Helicopter Flying School (referred to as MFTS), located at RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey). Role Overview UK CAA B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager and supporting the MFTS operation. Permanent, full-time contract with Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd. Shift pattern (Line B2 shift): early shift Monday to Friday, 0700–1530 with a 30-minute unpaid break; late shift Monday to Friday, 1200–2030 with a 30-minute unpaid break. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme. Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures. Accomplish maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by Maintenance Supervisors. Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft. Supervise maintenance fitters and certify their work. Assist in the day-to-day running of the hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping. Complete maintenance including electrical systems and avionics systems. Requirements Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations including, but not limited to, Part 145, Part CAMO and the UK ANO. Experience in an aviation engineering environment. Ability to work as part of a team; self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills. Flexible to the requirements of the company and the needs of the customer. Operational resilience and collaborative problem-solving. Thorough knowledge of electrical and avionics systems. Licences & Qualifications Essential: valid UK CAA Part-66 B2 licence. Desirable: Airbus EC135 T3H type rating. Desirable: Airbus BK117 D2 type rating. Type training will be provided. Fitter-to-LAE pathway Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part-66 B2 licence, who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years' experience documented in their experience logbooks, are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.
