AHUK is the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Helicopter Flying School (MFTS) at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire and RAF Valley in Anglesey. Role Overview Airbus Helicopters UK is seeking a Part-147 Aircraft Engineering B1.3 Mechanical Instructor / Examiner / Practical Assessor to work within the Part-147 training team at Oxford on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities Carry out theoretical and practical type training instructional duties for which you are qualified. Carry out the duties of theoretical examiner and practical assessor in line with CAA and EASA Part-66 and Part-147 regulations. Compile questions for the examination banks for which you are qualified. Act as invigilator for theoretical examinations and ensure examination timetables are coordinated. Ensure the security and validity of all examinations in accordance with CAA and EASA Part-66 and Part-147 requirements. Ensure the training department adheres to company training and engineering procedures and operates efficiently and effectively. Carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Training Manager during any prolonged absence. Compile training course material. Travel within the UK and overseas to deliver and receive training. Licences & Qualifications Essential: hold a Part-147 B1 Type Certificate of Recognition on the Eurocopter MBB BK117-C2, MBB BK117-D2 (D2 and D3 models), Turbomeca Arriel 2E engine for MBB-BK117-D, Eurocopter EC135T, Eurocopter EC135P, Airbus EC135T3H, Airbus EC135P3H, Turbomeca Arrius 2B engine for EC135T and EC135T3H, and PWC PW206 engine for EC135P and EC135P3H. Essential: an instructor certificate issued by a legal entity recognised by its local authorities and acceptable to the national authority where the instructor will exercise their privileges. Desirable: a CAA B1.3 licence for the aircraft types on which the instructor will teach. Experience Extensive practical experience on Airbus Helicopters EC135 all variants, MBB BK117-D2, MBB BK117-C2, the SAFRAN Arrius 2B series engine, the Arriel 2E engine and the PWC PW206 engine. Experience must be representative of the elements to be taught and gained in a civil aviation environment or acceptable equivalent such as maintenance, engineering or a design organisation. Experience of CAA and EASA regulations including CAA CAP1528, CAP1529 and EASA UG.CAO0.00154-002. Experience as a theoretical examiner and practical assessor. Ability to design, compile and construct training course material and presentations for aircraft type, engine, familiarisation and differences courses. Desirable: experience with the Google suite (Meet, Docs, Slides), synthetic training devices, a civil training organisation, EASA UG.CAO.00169 and distance learning techniques. Requirements Meet the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages at the minimum level B1 as detailed in CAA CAP1528. The position is subject to national security vetting; candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance, which generally requires having lived in the UK for the last five years, and all successful applicants undergo a mandatory BPSS check. Applicants must meet all export compliance requirements. All candidates must hold the current legal right to work in the United Kingdom; Airbus cannot offer visa sponsorship.
