Role Overview STS Aviation Services is hiring contractor B1 Aircraft Mechanics in Manchester, United Kingdom, for contract opportunities starting in September 2026. The role forms part of the winter programme at the Manchester hangar and supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity on large commercial aircraft. It is built for experienced mechanics who can work safely, accurately and efficiently in a live commercial aircraft maintenance environment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance, repair and overhaul of customer aircraft, including all forms of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Follow both STS and customer-specific interface processes, recording all maintenance activity performed and ensuring all man-hour bookings are accurate and timely. Execute the highest levels of maintenance standards and ensure aircraft maintenance activity is performed promptly and efficiently to the customer's full satisfaction. Maintain the highest standard of safety and cleanliness, complying with all company procedures and policies. Fully comply with the minimum requirements for health and safety in the workplace and with COSHH regulations. Experience Minimum of 3 years' aircraft experience performing repairs, overhaul and maintenance on large commercial aircraft. Previous live aircraft mechanical experience. Good knowledge of aircraft systems. Requirements Applicants must be citizens of the United Kingdom or hold current authorisation to work in the United Kingdom for any employer, with at least two years remaining before expiration. All applicants must have a valid DBS check or the ability to obtain one. Excellent interpersonal skills. Organisational skills. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office applications. Additional Information Employment type: contract, tied to the winter maintenance programme starting September 2026.
