Role Overview The Avionics Shop Supervisor I is responsible for overseeing the execution of the entire work scope, including avionics installations, preventive maintenance and alterations performed under the authority of the Clay Lacy FAA-certificated repair station and as directed by the Avionics Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager. Location: Van Nuys, CA (KVNY). Time type: full time. Key Responsibilities Supervise avionics installation projects, assist with installation pre-planning and manpower allocation, and validate system check-out and troubleshooting as required Effectively interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics Supervise daily activities to ensure maximum efficiency, and take the necessary action so that all work is completed within schedule and within estimated labor and material costs Monitor and control overtime Promote an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed Contribute to the annual performance evaluation of assigned personnel and monitor and document employee performance throughout the performance period Ensure that qualified personnel are assigned to every task and that applicable technical data is used Ensure aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with the methods of execution outlined in the Clay Lacy Repair Station Manual Provide a comprehensive shift turnover to ensure maximum efficiency Support the Clay Lacy vision, mission and values through achievement of department goals and objectives, and contribute to process improvement and to strategies that improve customer service and the maintenance process Observe and administer company rules and regulations, safety policy and standard operating procedures Perform other related duties as assigned by the Avionics Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager Licences & Qualifications Required: Airframe certificate / Airframe licence Must possess own tools Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background check Experience Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least 1 year of continuous Lead Technician experience performing complex avionics installations on business jets, including Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault/Falcon aircraft Must have 8 to 12 years of military or corporate aviation experience in avionics installations and troubleshooting; military avionics schooling and experience will be considered Comprehensive understanding of avionics and electrical systems, operations, interfacing and testing using avionics test equipment In-depth knowledge of current avionics installations, including cabin Wi-Fi connectivity, Cabin Management Systems (CMS), SATCOM (Inmarsat and Iridium), FANS/ADS-B, and cockpit upgrades and modifications Knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Corridor Ability to obtain and interpret required technical data, Service Bulletins (SBs) and Service Information Letters (SILs) Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships through professionalism, tact, courtesy and sound judgment Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish deadlines and complete projects in a fast-paced environment, and to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the use of hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers and other avionics installation equipment Willingness to travel and provide on-call and weekend support as required What We Offer Compensation of USD 67.00 to USD 73.00 per hour Sign-on bonus of USD 3,500.00 Eligibility for the Clay Lacy Aviation comprehensive benefits plan Additional Information Requisition reference: JR100263.
