Role Overview The Avionics Shop Supervisor I is responsible for overseeing execution of the entire work scope, including avionics installations, preventive maintenance and alterations performed under the authority of the company's FAA Certificated Repair Station, as directed by the Avionics Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager. Sign-on bonus: $3,500.00. Key Responsibilities Supervise avionics installation projects, assist with installation pre-planning and manpower allocation, and validate system check-out and troubleshooting as required. Effectively interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics. Supervise daily activities to ensure maximum efficiency and take necessary action so all work is completed within schedule and estimated labour and material costs. Promote an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed. Contribute to annual performance evaluations of assigned personnel and monitor and document employee performance throughout the performance period. Monitor and control overtime. Ensure qualified personnel are assigned to every task and that applicable technical data is used. Ensure aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed per the methods of execution in the company's Repair Station Manual. Provide a comprehensive shift turnover to ensure maximum efficiency. Support the company's vision, mission and values through department goals and objectives, contributing to process improvement and strategies that improve customer service and the maintenance process. Observe and administer company rules, regulations, safety policy and standard operating procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Avionics Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager. Licences & Qualifications Airframe licence/certificate required. Must possess own tools. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background check. Experience Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least one year of continuous Lead Technician experience performing complex avionics installations on business jets, including Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault/Falcon aircraft. 8-12 years of military or corporate aviation experience in avionics installations and troubleshooting. Comprehensive understanding of avionics and electrical systems, operations, interfacing and testing using avionics test equipment. Military avionics schooling and experience will be considered. Requirements In-depth knowledge of current avionics installations, including cabin Wi-Fi connectivity, Cabin Management Systems (CMS), SATCOM (Inmarsat and Iridium), FANS/ADS-B, and cockpit upgrades and modifications. Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Corridor. Ability to obtain and interpret required technical data, Service Bulletins (SBs) and Service Information Letters (SILs). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships through professionalism, tact, courtesy and sound judgement. Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish deadlines and complete projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers and other avionics installation equipment. Willingness to travel and provide on-call and weekend support as required. What We Offer Likely pay range of $67.00-$73.00 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation; the hourly wage is set based on experience, geographic location and possibly other requirements. $3,500 sign-on bonus.
