Role Overview As an Avionics Mechanic you troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex electrical systems on commercial aircraft, from flight deck electronics to system modifications, playing a vital role in keeping the fleet safe, reliable and ready for take-off. The role is responsible for electrical maintenance and repair on commercial aircraft types. Key Responsibilities Install and modify various aircraft electrical systems using special tooling and ground support equipment, following oral and written instructions such as supervisors' directives and manuals, to complete all routine and non-routine assignments in a timely manner. Maintain and store various tools in serviceable condition. Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep a clean work area. Perform basic operational checks. Work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, EOs and EAs. Ensure proper bonding and grounding. Requirements Proficient working knowledge of the following skills, and the ability to learn skills across various narrow-body and wide-body commercial aircraft: Proficiency in ordering parts and materials from the IPC and other sources. Proficient knowledge of the Inspection Procedure Manual and all paperwork procedures. Ability to resolve difficult tasks with limited information and supervision by conducting in-depth research using appropriate sources and manuals. Proficient knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials. Proficient knowledge of ATA codes, wiring schematics, analysis charts and maintenance procedures. Knowledge of all applicable FARs and company policies and procedures. Proficient knowledge and interpretation of all paperwork procedures, including job cards, time cards, routine and non-routine cards, SRMs, service bulletins, ADs, EOs and work sign-off/sell-off procedures. A moderate level of interpersonal skill to maintain effective relationships with various departments, co-workers and supervision.
