Avionics Lead Mechanic - Line Maintenance, First Shift

Job Description

Role Overview The Line Maintenance Avionics Lead Mechanic assigns daily job tasks and leads, directs and provides oversight of the work performance of subordinate crew members on the first shift. The role sits in OSC Line Maintenance and reports to the OSC Line Maintenance Manager and the Line Maintenance Avionics Supervisor. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with the Supervisor on the scheduling and assignment of daily job tasks. Lead and direct subordinate crew members in the performance of job tasks and ensure productivity and work quality are satisfactory. Ensure all identified maintenance discrepancies are documented. Perform troubleshooting and assist in determining the proper course of maintenance action when a discrepancy is found. Assist crew members with interpreting maintenance manual or SRM instructions. Ensure all maintenance performed by subordinate crew members complies with approved maintenance data such as the AMM, SRM, CMMs, WDM, service bulletins and EAs, and is properly documented. Provide on-the-job training to subordinate crew members as necessary. Provide oversight of crew members and assist the Supervisor in identifying the need for training or remedial training. Assist crew members in the accomplishment of assigned tasks. Assist the Supervisor in identifying any safety-related deficiencies. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Requirements Must be able to work overtime, weekends and days off; occasional overtime will be required. Travel may be required. Language: ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English, write routine reports and correspondence, and give verbal and written direction to assigned staff. Licences & Qualifications FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant licence required. Experience High school graduate. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in avionics maintenance and repair on commercial category aircraft. Additional Information Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and occasionally to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in a construction and maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
