Role Overview This is an opportunity to join Babcock's Aviation business as an Avionics Engineer at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton, near Cheltenham, supporting rotary aircraft operations that play a vital role in delivering essential services. Working within a highly skilled maintenance team and closely with the Avionics Supervisor, you will maintain, repair and troubleshoot advanced aircraft avionics and electrical systems, supporting maintenance plans, operational milestones and the highest standards of aviation safety and compliance. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, based on site at Staverton. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned line and base maintenance activities on rotary aircraft and avionics systems Rectify deferred and carry-forward defects in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and the Minimum Equipment List Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems to maintain aircraft availability and airworthiness Ensure serviceable tools, equipment, materials and airworthiness data are available to support maintenance activities Liaise professionally with colleagues and customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance Licences & Qualifications Required: a valid CAA Part-66 B2 AML, preferred with EC-135 and/or H-145 type ratings Basic IT skills Valid UK driving licence Experience Experience maintaining and repairing aircraft avionics systems within a line or base maintenance environment Proven fault-finding and rectification experience on avionics and electrical systems Line/base avionic maintenance experience and rotary experience Knowledge of aviation maintenance procedures, tooling control and ground support equipment Understanding of Safety Management Systems and aviation flight safety principles Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to complete technical documentation accurately What We Offer Compensation of GBP 75,000 to GBP 77,000 plus benefits Generous holiday allowance, plus holiday trading allowing most employees to buy additional leave or sell up to one working week Matched contribution pension scheme, with life assurance Access to a Digital GP, annual health check and nutritional consultations through Aviva DigiCare+ Employee share scheme and employee shopping savings portal Payment of professional fees Reservists in the armed forces receive 10 days special paid leave Be Kind Day: one working day of paid leave a year for volunteering with a chosen organisation or registered charity Flexible working and a dynamic working environment Additional Information Security clearance: the successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Requirements
