Role Overview Provide leadership, technical expertise and guidance while performing operational and functional tests and repairs of avionics, electronic and aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect-free aircraft. The technician defines and implements process changes that reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising safety or quality, and has the knowledge and leadership skill to fill in for the team leader while adhering to daily work plans. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced operational and functional testing, troubleshooting and repair of avionics and electrical systems to ensure a defect-free aircraft Lead by example, providing technical guidance and direct training to support cross-functional workforce development Install and functionally test avionics and electrical components per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals Diagnose system discrepancies and execute timely, high-quality repairs to minimise schedule impact Repair or replace wiring and components using approved techniques including splicing, soldering and pinning Perform and oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications Set up and operate test equipment; conduct performance and reliability evaluations Ensure all work is properly documented in logs and maintenance records Pre-inspect work prior to quality inspection to reduce rework and improve efficiency Support team leadership responsibilities to ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence Enforce the foreign object damage programme, tool control programme, 5S programme and all safety regulations Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines on projects Additional duties Where required, teach the installation and functional testing of electrical and avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals Self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, work may include flight tests on aircraft as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in aircraft avionics systems Proven ability to lead, train and mentor others in a team-based environment Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of aircraft systems other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installation and repair APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams Must be able to work any shift Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Requirements
