Role Overview Pratt & Whitney is hiring an A&P Technician in South Burlington, Vermont, with a USD 5,000 sign-on bonus . The role suits a mechanic with a passion for aviation who enjoys company-paid travel and the chance to see other parts of the country. The position works 2nd shift, Sunday to Wednesday from 3:30pm to 1:30am; training is conducted on 1st shift for up to 6 months before transitioning to 2nd shift. Pratt & Whitney in Burlington, Vermont is an FAA-regulated facility under the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration. This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines, and the candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulation 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40. Key Responsibilities Service, operate, maintain, repair and remove equipment, among a variety of other duties Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements in accordance with specific customer specifications Manage technical products, services logistics and provisioning, quantity surveying and configurations for assigned customers Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, recommending actions to company or customer representatives while assessing product needs in line with customer specifications Travel up to 25% What You Will Learn How to serve as the local on-site RTX representative to the customer's organisation, managing statements of work to meet customer and contract requirements Licences & Qualifications Active A&P licence High school diploma, or an AA/AS degree or other two-year post-high-school training with a minimum of 4 years of experience working as an A&P Technician This job requires a U.S. Person, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). No security clearance is required. Preferred Qualifications Degree in aviation maintenance management Heavy hangar, FBO or field experience covering rigging, removal and installation, MRPs and aircraft interface Shop or bench refurbishment experience Experience with inspection of engine parts refurbishment, troubleshooting, repairs and return to service of engines, modules and components Airframe experience with Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC) powered aircraft Customer service experience What We Offer Salary range of USD 43,400 - 82,600, a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels; RTX considers the role, function and responsibilities, work experience, location, education or training and key skills when extending an offer USD 5,000 sign-on bonus Company-paid travel Eligibility for benefits including medical, dental and vision cover, life insurance, short and long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, an employee assistance programme, the Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off and holidays. Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite, including all production and maintenance workers. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility. This is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. Requirements
