About the Company STS Line Maintenance is one of the largest line maintenance support providers in the United States, operating around 50 line maintenance stations across the United States, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom and France. Skilled mechanics handle RON maintenance, turnaround checks, non-routine discrepancy reports and ground equipment maintenance on a scheduled or on-call basis. Role Overview STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics in Syracuse, New York. This is a part-time opportunity supporting line maintenance operations at the Syracuse station. The A&P Aircraft Maintenance Technician supports the daily maintenance needs of the company's airline customers and helps ensure safe, reliable and on-time aircraft service. The role suits a highly motivated maintenance professional with a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, strong troubleshooting skills and the flexibility to work in a fast-paced line maintenance environment, delivering top-level service, quality, safety and reliability. Key Responsibilities Report directly to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and station leads Work in close partnership with field airlines, flight crews and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers Ensure aircraft are maintained to the airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies and best practices Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity in all maintenance activities Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on analysis of test results Follow aircraft maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks and other technical documentation Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and determine repair or replacement requirements Perform maintenance on commercial and large regional aircraft, including but not limited to Airbus A320, CRJ and Embraer 170 types Work outdoors and in inclement weather as required, plus additional duties as deemed necessary Requirements Own set of standard line maintenance tools required; calibrated and specialty tooling is provided Self-motivated with a positive attitude and able to work with minimal supervision Ability to stand, climb ladders and stairs, and lift 50 lbs unassisted, with or without accommodations Must pass a background check and drug and alcohol test Must be able to obtain Customs and Border Protection clearance Basic to mid-level computer and organisational skills Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications Ability to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components Ability to troubleshoot and repair airframe and engine systems, including electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems Versatility and flexibility to work a part-time schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays Strong customer focus, communication skills, work ethic and commitment to excellence Must be authorised to work in the United States Licences & Qualifications Required: current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no history of infractions Plus: Inspection Authorization licence Experience Recent A&P experience on turbine-powered aircraft considered a plus Experience working under an FAA-approved Part 145 repair station or in a Part 135 environment is highly desired What We Offer Rate of pay is determined by previous experience and training and ranges between $32 and $42 per hour Full-time employees receive PTO, health insurance and 401(k) benefits; no benefits are available for part-time positions Additional Information To learn more, visit www.stsaviationgroup.com or call 1-800-359-4787 ext. 9176. Requirements
