Job Description

Role Overview The Alaska Airlines Military Technician Program supports active-duty military personnel and veterans transitioning into civilian careers in commercial aviation maintenance. It provides a pathway to obtaining FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licences and prepares participants for technician roles with Alaska Airlines. Participants receive financial support, mentorship and a contingent employment opportunity on successful completion. Key Responsibilities Attend and maintain good standing in an FAA-approved FAR 147 A&P test preparation program. Maintain regular and consistent communication with the company on academic and skill development progress. Obtain A&P licences within 90 days of completing the program. Commit to a minimum of 12 months of employment with Alaska Airlines following program completion. Requirements Active-duty military member or veteran with a valid FAA Form 8610-2 or eligible certificate. Valid driver's licence. Ability to lift 70 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to obtain airport security clearance. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Minimum age of 18. High school diploma or equivalent.
