AHUK is the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its Defence Helicopter Flying School (MFTS) at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire and RAF Valley in Anglesey. Role Overview This permanent Airworthiness Review Engineer role is based at RAF Shawbury and is responsible for the management and production of airworthiness reviews across the AHUK-managed fleet and for external customers. Key Responsibilities Ensure strict compliance by adhering to established company procedures. Conduct comprehensive airworthiness reviews for ARC, NARC and Certificate of Airworthiness renewals, and conduct ARC and NARC extensions. Conduct comprehensive independent checks for component replacements. Conduct comprehensive reviews and updates of aircraft flight manuals. Support the review and modification of Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMPs). Support the review and update of Airworthiness Directive Records (ADRs). Support line and base maintenance planning operations. Support materials planning and procurement. Support the production and review of maintenance variations. Support accurate updates of aircraft and engine records. Provide cross-functional collaboration and support within the CAMO team. Continuously optimise CAMO processes and procedures to maximise organisational efficiency. Perform additional professional duties as directed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager. Licences & Qualifications Essential: an experienced Part-66 licensed engineer, or the holder of an appropriate aeronautical degree with extensive experience in a continuing airworthiness management environment, or demonstrable experience in continuing airworthiness management if neither a Part-66 licence nor an aeronautical degree is held. Acceptable as an ARC signatory to support the recommendation, issue and extension of ARCs, and eligible to become airworthiness review staff. Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent recognised qualifications such as NVQ or BTEC. Desirable: aviation-related degree or equivalent, aviation human factors training, and completed recognised Part-CAMO and Part-145 training courses. Requirements Good understanding of aircraft continuing airworthiness requirements in relation to Part-CAMO regulation. Methodical with acute attention to detail, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised or as part of a team. Flexible work ethic focused on delivering against agreed timelines, with strong team leadership. Proactive, able to recognise potential issues and apply remedial action before they affect operations. High computer literacy and competence with Google Docs, plus good written and verbal communication at all levels of the organisation. Desirable: knowledge of continuing airworthiness management software for maintenance and materials planning, and of Airbus Helicopters products and their technical documentation. DBS security clearance and eligibility for SC clearance are required, and applicants must meet all export compliance requirements. What We Offer Competitive base salary.
