About the Company Joby is developing a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically and carries passengers quietly over congested city streets. The company has been working towards that goal since 2009 and is now in the final stages of certifying its aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch in the United States and Dubai, Joby is scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of its commercial service. Role Overview Joby Aviation is seeking an experienced aircraft maintenance leader to serve as a Maintenance Supervisor supporting its general aviation aircraft fleet. The role combines hands-on aircraft maintenance and inspection with people leadership, team development and operational coordination: the Supervisor manages daily hangar operations, ensures fleet airworthiness and leads a team of technicians. The ideal candidate is safety-driven, highly organised, adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position is based in Marina and may require domestic travel. Key Responsibilities Manage, build and develop a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, providing guidance, performance feedback and technical mentorship Maintain airworthiness of assigned aircraft, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and inspections per company procedures, maintenance manuals and FAA regulations Conduct maintenance sign-offs and return-to-service approvals and complete all required documentation accurately Coordinate daily maintenance operations, logistics and site readiness with internal teams and external stakeholders Oversee aircraft modifications, instrumentation installation, disassembly, reassembly, packaging and shipping Perform and oversee aircraft launch and recovery operations, pre- and post-flight ground support activities and the maintenance and operation of ground support equipment Uphold rigorous standards for safety, cleanliness and organisation to keep the hangar in showroom condition and ensure the team works to established procedures, company policies and regulatory requirements Participate in Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and support domestic maintenance launch efforts, special projects and additional maintenance programmes as assigned Licences & Qualifications Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate High school diploma, GED or equivalent Desired: FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate Experience 5+ years of relevant aircraft maintenance and inspection experience, including advanced aircraft systems 1+ years of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in an aviation environment Desired: experience leading maintenance teams or coordinating field maintenance operations Desired: experience managing aircraft logistics and onsite operational support Desired: familiarity with electronic aircraft maintenance management (ERP) systems Desired: Part 135 maintenance experience Desired: Cessna 208, Robinson, Cirrus and/or Rotax airframe and engine experience Requirements Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals and technical documents, with proficiency in electronic equipment, hand tools and precision measuring equipment Strong written and verbal communication, basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance documentation systems Willingness to work extended hours and travel domestically as required; must hold a valid passport with no travel restrictions Demonstrated proficiency in reading and speaking English What We Offer Target base pay of $123,000 to $155,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills and experience Compensation is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) Paid time off Healthcare benefits 401(k) plan with a company match Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) Short-term and long-term disability coverage Life insurance and more Additional Information Physical requirements: able to walk and stand on level and inclined surfaces for extended periods; climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands; crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above and below shoulders; and lift, push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
