Role Overview As an Airframe Powerplant General (APG) Mechanic you play a key part in keeping commercial aircraft safe, reliable and ready for take-off, performing everything from routine maintenance to complex mechanical repairs. The role is responsible for mechanical maintenance and repair on commercial aircraft types, using top-tier equipment alongside a skilled team. Key Responsibilities Perform routine access, open-ups, servicing and similar tasks. Perform lubrication. Operate small tugs, forklifts, scissor lifts and snorkel lifts (licensed). Apply tagging, circuit-breaker lockout and fuel cell entry procedures. Remove and install components with limited supervision. Assist in basic rigging and adjustment tests. Apply a basic understanding of aircraft fuelling, servicing and marshalling. Become familiar with system operations and cockpit layout. Understand the hazards associated with flight control operations. Requirements Proficient working knowledge of the following: safety wiring; engine servicing; engine CSD servicing; tyre inflation; aircraft wash rack and cleaning procedures; aircraft lubrication procedures; hydraulic pressurisation and depressurisation; wing-walker duties and aircraft towing; aircraft marshalling; torque wrench values and operation; basic safety procedures; engine cowling opening; nose radome removal and installation; application of external power; stairs and entry door operation; APU servicing; cargo door operation; jack operation; fuel tank entry procedures; operation of reader printers and the IPC; electrical HOBART and HUFFER equipment; general knowledge of all applicable FARs and company policies and procedures; and familiarity with all paperwork procedures including job cards, time cards, routine and non-routine cards, SRMs, service bulletins and work sign-off/sell-off procedures. A moderate level of interpersonal skill to maintain effective relationships with various departments, co-workers and supervision. Easy mobility around all sections of the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. Ability to distinguish colours to perform the work adequately. Ability to lift 50 lbs and to report to work regularly. Licences & Qualifications Airframe and/or Powerplant licence preferred but not required.
