Role Overview STS Technical Services is hiring Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics to join Optic Air in Maurice, Iowa. This is a full-time, year-round direct hire position supporting a rapidly growing fleet of Piper Aztec and Cessna 172 aircraft at KSXK. The mechanic performs maintenance, inspections and repairs on aircraft used for aerial survey projects across the United States and Canada, working from a brand new, state-of-the-art hangar. Location: Maurice, Iowa Hiring company: STS Technical Services Client: Optic Air Employment type: Direct hire Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on light aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues relating to aircraft systems, components and engines. Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and precision measuring equipment. Perform detailed inspections, installations and modifications on airframes and engines. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs. Stay current with industry standards and regulatory changes through ongoing training. Support a safe and efficient maintenance environment. Licences & Qualifications Required: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate. Requirements Experience with light aircraft systems such as the Piper Aztec and Cessna 172 preferred. Strong understanding of aircraft engines, avionics and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and drawings. Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
